Instructions for Downloading and Installing the WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program, Version 2.1 Update

Note: To install the Version 2.1 update, you must have the WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program Version 2.0 installed on your computer.

Before downloading and installing the WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program Version 2.1 Update, print and read the following instructions.

Instructions are provided for the following operating systems:
	Windows® 95, 98, NT, 2000, Me, or XP
	Macintosh® OS 8.6 - 9.2.2

 

Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, Me, or XP

Use the following steps to download and install the Version 2.1 update. Complete this procedure only one time.

Downloading the Update File

1. To download the update file (size: 2.0 MB), right-click here.
2. Choose either Save Target As (for Internet Explorer®) or Save Link As (for Netscape Navigator®) to download the update.
3. When the Save As dialog box appears, select Desktop and then click Save. The file WJDSCSupd.exe will download onto the Desktop.
4. After the WJDSCSupd.exe file has downloaded, close the Web browser.

Extracting the Update File

Note: If you are using Windows NT, 2000, or XP, you must have administrator privileges to install the update. Log on to Windows as an administrator or as a user with administrator privileges before installing the update.

1. When you are ready to install the WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program Version 2.1 Update, quit all Windows programs that are currently running, including any virus protection programs.
2. On the desktop, double-click the WJDSCSupd.exe icon. The WJ III Compuscore 2.1 Update window will appear.
3. In the update window, click Next.
4. In the Extraction Path window, click Next.
5. The files are extracted and Windows Explorer is opened.

Installing the Update File

1. Double-click the Setup.exe file in Windows Explorer. The installation program will begin.
2. In the Welcome window, click Next.
3. In the Software License Agreement window, click Yes.
4. In the Choose Destination Location window, click Next if the original program is installed in the default location, C:\Program Files\Riverside Publishing\WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program 2.0. If the original program was installed in another folder, click Browse. When the Choose Folder dialog box appears, select that folder and click OK. Then click Next.
5. In the Select Program Folder window, click Next if you installed the program in the default location (Riverside Publishing\WJ III Compuscore 2.1). If the original program was installed in another location, type the folder name and click Next.
6. In the Setup Complete window, click OK.
7. Close Windows Explorer.

To verify that the program has been updated, start WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program 2.1 and choose Help > About WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program 2.1. The About box will display "WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program 2.1".

Macintosh OS 8.6 - 9.2.2

Use the following steps to download and install the Version 2.1 update. Complete this procedure only one time.

Downloading the Update File

1. When you are ready to install the WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program, Version 2.1 Update, quit all virus protection programs that are currently running.
2. To download the update file (size: 2.0 MB) for a Macintosh computer, click here.
3. Save the WJ III 21 Update.sit file to your desktop.
4. When the download is complete, the update file should automatically extract and the WJ III 2.1 Update icon will appear on the desktop.

NOTE: If the WJ III 2.1 Update icon does not appear on the desktop, use Stuffit Expander™(available as a free download from Aladdin Systems) or another extraction utility to extract the WJ III 2.1 Update file.

Installing the Update File

1. Double-click the WJ III 2.1 Update icon to start the installation program.
2. In the License Agreement window, click Continue.
3. When the WJ III 2.1 Update window appears, you must select the location where the original WJ III Compuscore 2.0 program was installed.
   If the original program was installed in the default location, Macintosh HD > Riverside Publishing > WJ III Compuscore 2.0 folder, click Install.
   If the original program was installed in another folder, click Select Folder. When the directory dialog box appears, locate the folder that contains the Riverside Publishing folder and select it. For example, if you installed the original program in the Macintosh HD > Applications > Riverside Publishing > WJ III Compuscore 2.0 folder, locate and highlight the Applications folder icon and click Select. When you have selected the correct installation folder, click the Install button to run the installation.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. A message will indicate when the software has been successfully updated. Click Quit to close the installer.

To verify that the program has been updated, start WJ III Compuscore 2.0 and choose Apple menu > About WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program 2.1. The About box will display "WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program 2.1".
