ASEBA - Pre-School Module Ages 1.5-5The Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL/1.5-5) and the Caregiver-Teacher Report Form (C-TRF), revised in 2000, are a set of rating forms and profiles for the preschool-aged child. They replace the legacy (previous) editions of CBCL/2-3 and C-TRF/2-5. The syndromes scored between the two forms are based on factor analyses that were coordinated between the two instruments. The profiles for the two instruments have the following 6 cross-informant syndromes: Emotionally Reactive, Anxious/Depressed, Somatic Complaints, Withdrawn, Attention Problems, Aggressive Behavior. The CBCL/1.5-5 also has a Sleep Problems syndrome; while both forms have parallel Internalizing, Externalizing, and Total Problems scales. Language Development Survey (LDS) An important feature of the CBCL/1.5-5 is the LDS, which uses parents' reports to assess children's expressive vocabularies and word combinations, as well as risk factors for language delays. The LDS indicates whether a child's vocabulary and word combinations are delayed relative to norms for ages 18-35 months. The LDS can be completed for language-delayed older children for comparison with norms up to 35 months. DSM-Oriented Scales The preschool profiles feature DSM-oriented scales in addition to empirically based scales. Scales were constructed for the following 5 DSM-oriented categories: Affective Problems, Anxiety Problems, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Problems, Oppositional Defiant Problems, and Pervasive Developmental Problems. The new Assessment Data Manager (ADM) preschool module displays percentiles and T scores for children's scores on each DSM-oriented scale in relation to norms for the new national sample. In addition, it prints cross-informant comparisons of DSM-oriented scale scores for any combination of up to eight forms per child. The DSM-oriented scales can also be scored by hand on profiles printed on the back of the hand-scored profiles for the syndrome scales. The DSM-oriented scales serve as supplements to the empirically based scales for users who wish to view item scores in relation to DSM categories as well as in relation to empirically based syndromes. CHILD BEHAVIOR CHECKLISTThe CBCL/1.5-5 obtains parents' ratings of 99 problem items; plus descriptions of problems, disabilities, what concerns parents most about their child, and the best things about the child. Scales are based on rating of 1,728 children and are normed on a new national (U.S.) sample of 700 children. Hand-scored and computer-scored profiles are available. The Assessment Data Manager (ADM) module for ages 1.5-5 systematically compares up to eight forms per child. The CBCL/1.5-5 - LDS forms are also available in French and are scored using the English profiles or ADM software. Note: The legacy editions of CBCL/2-3 and C-TRF/2-5 can be scored using the new profiles, but is is strongly recommmended that all new assessments of pre-school children employ the new editions. CAREGIVER-TEACHER REPORT FORMThe C-TRF obtains ratings from daycare providers and teachers on 99 items, plus descriptions of problems, disabilities, what concerns the respondent most about the child, and the best things about the child. Scales are based on ratings of 1,113 children and are normed on 1,192 children. Hand-scored and computer-scored profiles are available. The Assessment Data Manager (ADM) module for ages 1.5-5 systematically compares up to eight forms per child. COMPONENTSAll Forms and Profiles come in packages of 50.
